Edu Prado is a composer, music producer and GRAMMY®-nominated recording and mixing engineer. Born in Curitiba, Brazil, and of Brazilian–Italian heritage, he has been based in Dublin, Ireland, since 2017, when he moved to study for an MSc in Scoring for Film & Visual Media (First Class Honours). He also holds a degree in music production and composition from UFPR, where he received the Best Student Award, and a first-class degree in industrial mechatronics from UTFPR.
Since 2020 he has been the recording and mix engineer for Irish National Opera. His mix of Emma O'Halloran's Trade / Mary Motorhead (INO / Signum Records) was nominated for Best Opera Recording at the 2026 GRAMMY® Awards, and his recording of Gerald Barry's Alice's Adventures Under Ground was a Gramophone Awards 2022 nominee. He produced Inni-K's RTÉ Folk Awards-nominated work and the music of Lowli, and records orchestral and contemporary music with ensembles including Crash Ensemble, Ergodos and Vladimir Jablokov's orchestral shows.
As a composer he writes for film, TV and media — including additional music for Viaplay series — and recorded with the Veus children's choir in Barcelona for Neople's Dungeon & Fighter Online (produced by LightJar). He led audio and later strategy at the immersive studio Nüwa (VR opera, EU-funded XR projects), ran sound for Ireland's pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, and created The Harrowphone, an immersive installation built from farm harrow discs (FuddleFest; Irish Design Week 2023). He is currently sound supervisor on RTÉ's The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock-In (Riverside TV).
In 2020 he founded Edu Prado Sounds, an official Native Instruments NKS partner whose Kontakt instruments — including a Sound On Sound five-star Extended Electric Guitar — are used by composers worldwide.
